Edmée helps manage Unico’s Sustainability’s work in the Rocky Mountain region. Her responsibilities include implementing and managing green building best practices, specifically in energy and water efficiency and waste management, as well as LEED and ENERGY STAR certification projects.
Edmée arrived at Unico with six years of sustainable business experience with her. Prior to her employment with Unico, she was the Sustainability Manager for Alfalfa’s Market, a leader in Colorado’s organic food industry. There Edmée directed sustainability and local food programs for multiple stores, and worked with community partners to develop and implement green purchasing policies, waste management strategies, employee sustainability trainings, and energy and water efficiency policies.
Prior to her work at Alfalfa’s, Edmée conducted in-depth research on coal mine methane impacts on the environment and the U.S. carbon market industry’s projected growth. She published a full feasibility analysis report on the potential for the U.S. carbon market to finance coal mine methane mitigation projects in the United States.
Edmée brings direct knowledge of building and operations sustainability management issues, practiced expertise in water, waste and energy management, and a hands-on approach to handling the business case for sustainability.
